Draft with caution in 2012

Washington Nationals’ SP, Steven Strasburg, made a splash in his major league debut with a 14-strikeout game in 2010 against Pittsburgh.

In 2012, Strasburg will face two critical issues that will limit his fantasy value. First, he’s coming off Tommy John surgery. Secondly, the word out of Washington is that the Nationals are going to hold him to around 160 innings this year. No one doubts that Strasburg would put up great stats, especially in ERA, strikeouts and WHIP. Both of these things should make owners take a second thought at when to draft Strasburg. (more…)

Fantasy Baseball Advice: Playoff Edition (October 4th)

Wilson's got a little bit of Zito in him.

It’s slim pickings now that there are just eight teams left.  Naturally, since the pool of players dwindles significantly you have to be on top of your game to come out at the head.  Here are some guys that could be under-the-radar fantasy baseball contributors.

1.CJ Wilson, SP TEX: Wilson has been doing it right all season long so this pick wont come as much of a surprise.  He draws a very shaky James Shields in game 2 of the Rangers series with the Rays, and has been very solid on the road this season. (more…)
