He's on the cover for a reason!
College Fantasy Football games often require a team of solid players, if you are looking to win. More often then not, the high scorers of the week are going to be elite quarterbacks who consistently put up big numbers. This week we take a look at some quarterbacks who are must starts in weekly college fantasy football games.
1. Robert Griffin III – RG3 should have another monster day through the air against Kansas, as they are 115th in the NCAA in passing yards allowed, 119th in passing efficiency against, and 119th in points allowed.
2.Chandler Harnish – Bowling Green isn’t terrible against the pass but they’ve been getting run over all year (107th against the run, 5.0 yards per carry against). Harnish should have his third 100+ yard game on the ground in four tries after Tuesday night. Oh yeah, he can throw a little bit too.
3.Tyler Tettleton – Tettleton has been one of the more underrated Quarterbacks in fantasy this season. He goes up against Central Michigan Thursday evening and should have another good week. Central Michigan is ranked 96th against the pass, 87th in passing efficiency against and 95th against the run, which should allow Tettleton to pick up 3 or 4 cheapie points on the ground.
4.Brandon Weeden – Another week, another 40+ pass attempts for the former minor league baseball standout. This time Weeden gets Texas Tech, who is 80th in pass defense and 104th in points allowed.
5. Case Keenum – Keenum is really starting to hit his stride after missing all of last year with a knee injury, averaging 55 points over the last 3 games. Tulane hasn’t given up a ton of yards through the air but they have given up a ton of points, as they are the 111th scoring defense in the FBS.
6.Russell Wilson – Wilson has been the most consistent fantasy performer of the year with every point total falling between 26 and 34. This week will be no different, as Minnesota is sporting the 107th ranked defense against pass efficiency.
7.Colin Klein – Klein’s success this year has also been surprising but the former Wide Receiver has made the transition to Quarterback without a hitch. Even though throwing isn’t his strong suit, Texas A&M fields one of the worst passing defenses in the country (117th in yards allowed), and while Klein might be slowed on the ground by A&M’s stout run defense, it won’t be enough to stop him from another strong fantasy week.
8.Aaron Murray – While Murray hasn’t had the season most experts expected from him, last week was a large step in the right direction from him. It should continue this week against Auburn’s 81st ranked pass defense.
9.G.J Kinne – Kinne is beginning to put together some solid numbers over the last few weeks and the trend will continue. Marshall has been dominated through the air to the tune of 259 yards per game (96th in NCAA).
10.Kellen Moore – Moore is one the best passers in college football and while he’s going up against one of the best defenses in the NCAA over the last few years, TCU has their warts. They’ve allowed 16 TD passes, good for 94th in the League.
