College Fantasy Basketball Starting 5

Gorgui Dieng 2012

Gorgui Dieng Fantasy Outlook 2012-13

That’s right its time for Fantasy College Basketball.  The NCAA Basketball season starts up this Friday and I can’t wait.  So since the season is just starting up I will give you my starting 5 players.  These 5 players I feel are either going to continue to make a huge impact or they will exceed what they accomplished last season.

Guards:

Trey Burke, Sophomore University of Michigan: Trey Burke is one of the best guards out there and one of the best players Michigan has seen early on from his freshman year.  Burke last season was 43.3 % on Field Goals, and 74.4% from the free throw line.  He averaged 14.8 points per game and averaged 3.5 Rebounds per game.

Archie Goodwin, Freshman University of Kentucky:  If you haven’t seen any videos of this kid yet just go to Youtube and watch.  I’m a believer, Goodwin is the real deal and this being his first year playing college ball I am predicting some big numbers from him.

Forwards:

Cody Zeller, Sophomore University of Indiana:  Here is another kid that had a huge freshman year.  Zeller had 62% field goal rate and 75.5% from the free throw line.  He averaged 15.6 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game.  You wonder why Indiana is ranked #1 well here is a major reason why.  Pick Zeller up in your Fantasy Basketball leagues before he is gone!

DeShaun Thomas, Junior Ohio State University:  If Jared Sullinger was still at Ohio State I would still take DeShaun Thomas and start him in my fantasy league.  Thomas’s field goal percentage was 52% and he shot 74.8% from the free throw line last season.  He averaged 15.9 points per game and had an average of 5.4 rebounds per game.  Look for Thomas to have bigger stats this year.

Center:

Gorgui Dieng, Junior University of Louisville: This big man for Louisville is a monster.  Dieng had 128 blocked shots last season averaging 3.2 blocks per game.  Dieng had 52.5% field goal completion and he shot 67.6% from the free throw line.  He averaged 9.1 points per game and averaged 9.1 rebounds per game.  Dieng is a great big man to have on your fantasy team.

I would definitely watch these 5 players this season and also, I would try to pick them up in your College Fantasy Basketball leagues while you still can.  Just a final reminder the NCCA season starts this Friday at noon ET.  Check your local TV listings for game times and channel airings.  Best of Luck to everyone
