Nick Johnson- DH- Yankees
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com has reported that Yankees DH Nick Johnson will have surgery Tuesday on his right wrist and will likely be out until July. The cortisone shot didn’t do the trick as Johnson has been struggling with inflammation for about two weeks now.
Jeff Francoeur- OF- Mets
Jeff Francoeur is out of the Mets’ lineup for a second straight game Monday. He hasn’t registered an extra-base hit in the month of May and has struck out 16 times. The rest might help.
Mark DeRosa- OF- Giants
Giants utilityman Mark DeRosa will be placed on the 15-day disabled list shortly because of tendonitis in his elbow and a sore left wrist.
Bob Howry- RHP- Diamondbacks
Diamondbacks have released right-handed pitcher Bob Howry after the allowed 17 earned runs in 20 1/3 innings for the club this season.
Saul Rivera- RHP- Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks have acquired right-handed pitcher Saul Rivera from the Indians for cash.
Brian Tallet- SS- Blue Jays
Brian Tallet is slated to begin a minor league rehab stint at Single-A Dunedin later this week. He is likely to return as a reliever sometime in June, so keep him on your fantasy baseball radar.
